Culture Management Group presents it’s 3rd Annual Afrochella Festival sponsored by Visa, Twitter, Audiomack, and Bacardi. The festivities started from 26th December 2019 and will continue till January 1st 2020 with the main event happening at El Wak Stadium on December 28th in Accra. This year’s leading talent consists of Sarkodie, Samini, Tiwa Savage, and Wandi Coal. Other vital performances and showcases from across Africa and the African Diaspora include Destruction Boyz (South Africa), Mercedes Benson (UK), Neya Music (Tanzania), Amarachi Nwoso (Nigeria), and more.
Afrochella’s Talent Manager, Khadijat El-Alawal says, this year’s edition is a melting pot of talent and creativity that proves the unlimited capabilities of the African people. “We’re creating an experience that brings to together some of the brightest African Artistes and some of the most celebrated African acts on the same stage. In celebration with Ghana’s Year of Return, everyone present will be empowered to believe in themselves and the greatness of our continent, Africa”.
The main event starts at noon GMT. The field will encompass a variety of vendors, art showcases, pop-up installations, as well as African Chop Bar where Afrochella can experience authentic cuisines made in-front of them. 2019 is the festival’s first year with two stages. Audiomack sponsors the new Rising Stars Stage as a way to promote up and coming stars from Africa. GrapeVine TV will also be using this stage for their live discussion at 3 PM GMT. The Stadium grounds will have art installations, graffiti paintings, fashion pop-ups, a variety of food vendors including Afrochella’s Afro Track. This year’s unique vendors include Starbite, Cupcake Boutique, Rice Express, The Smoking Patty and The Office Waakye.
The festival is introducing it’s chill and African Chop Bar experience where attendees can experience authentic cuisines made in-front of them. Culture Management Group (CMG) has also expanded it’s celebration for Ghana Tourism Authority’s Year of Return to include a panel talk series, African Royalty Night, exquisite light show exhibition. The light show exhibition is by the festival’s Art Director, Vernell Akyeapong and has been opened to the public from starts December 20th and will be there all through to January 5th 2020 at Untamed Empire. Afrochella’s Talks panel discussion at BBnZ will include key media representatives like Tunde Ogundipe (Spotify) Ivie Ani (Journalist), Dani Kwarteng-Clark (Teen Vogue), and Juls (Producer) and more.
