After several weeks of excitement within the hospitality industry regarding the first-ever award for the key players in the industry, the award show was duly held.
Nominees from hotels across the country were awarded for their dedication and determination in creating the enabling environment to boost domestic tourism across the length and breadth of the country.
The event was hosted by media personality Regina Van Helvert with music from Elorm, Camidoh, Mr Drew and Akwaboah. These acts gave the audience the best of authentic Ghanaian music.
Camidoh opened the show with a classic performance of his new songs ‘For My Lover’ and ‘Yawa’, which the audience sang along with him from the moment he climbed the stage to when he finished performing. A session of the audience even asked him to perform another song for them before he leaves. Mr Drew, on the other hand, made a strong case for himself and won new fans at the event, dressed in a pink suit with a touch of white, the singer performed ‘Gimme Love’, he was the toast the audience, after a few minutes into his performance.
The man of the night, who everyone was waiting for, Akwaboah stuck to his norm of performing on the live band. His introduction fetched loud and resounding applauds from everyone in the room, the cheers and claps went higher when he started performing songs from his ‘Matters Of The Heart’ album, released in 2018. He concluded his performance with his latest song with Flowking Stone, ‘Blow My Mind’, before ushering the audience into songs from different Ghanaian musicians. They made the night a beautiful one to remember and patrons can’t wait for the second edition next year.
