Books are most at times a true reflections of one’s true experience or an imaginative expression of idea. In her case, Toke Makinwa, the author of the book, ‘On Becoming” takes readers into different realm her past personal experiences.
Reading this book is like having her sit by you and narrating her life ordeal to you because she actually documented it in such a way that will be very relatable and real to give you that part-of-you feeling.
During of the book in Ghana, she as harassed with question form media and bloggers who came to the LA Palm Royal Beach Hotel to have true understanding of the kind of message the book is going to pass onto readers.
Questions came from her marriage side and problems she faced trying to keep it together but had to eventually call it a quit and walk way. Her answers were quite precise and on point, freedom and alwaya making sure your decisions are the right one you first.
She touched on how, the writing process of the book helped to expand her mind more and acquire extra knowledge about certain things that were necessary and those that were not.
‘On Becoming’ is open title which might give room to other versions in the future she predicted quietly in propose to a question on why she chose church and if she has any plans of writing and publishing another book soon.
She finally ended her session with the media and bloggers by giving credit to God who she said saw her through all her tough times and even in the process of writing the book with was very hectic and very demanding as she has to make sure the truth was really what she was putting down for her fans and readers in a large scope.
