Dantata Universal Services Nigeria Ltd. (DUS) in partnership with VFS Global, an outsourcing and technology specialists for governments and diplomatic missions worldwide have opened a centre in Accra to offer enrollment services to Nigerians residing in Ghana wishing to obtain their National Identification Number (NIN). The opening of the centre, according to the DUS and VFS Global forms part of effort to support the initiative of Nigeria’s Identify Management Commission (NIMC), to enroll Nigerian adults and children in the diaspora into the country’s National Identify Database (NIDB).
Opened last August, the centre is located on the first floor of the Atlantic Tower, opposite Marina Mall at Accra’s Airport city. Appointment can be obtained before hand online for the National Identification Number enrollment and subsequent issuance of a General Multi Purpose Card (GMPC) to eligible Nigerian citizens. A dedicated contact center and email support services are also available for applicants to answer queries and track the status of their applications.
The NIN is a unique set of 11 digits issued to Nigerian citizens in the diaspora. It’s used to process all forms of transactions that requires identify verification such as issuance of driving license, international passport and opening of bank accounts. Mr Jiten Vyas, VFS Global’s Regional Group CEO said the launch of the new NIN enrollment centre in Accra to support Nigeria’s NIMC was a testament of of his Outfit’s effort to offer secure and seamless solutions in the identity and citizen services space globally.
