The Women’s Empowerment and Investment Group (WEIG) in collaboration with Annan Capital Partners (ACP) and Grow, Unite, Build Africa (GUBA) teamed to offer seed investment to women-owned and Ghana-based Small and Medium businesses. This led to the launch of the Covid-19 Stimulus Fund in June 2020, to provide assistance to women-led businesses affected by COVID-19.
The aim of the initiative was to uplift and provide financial support to Ghanaian based small and medium businesses that has been heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative attracted thousands of Applicants from various industries including agriculture, fashion, e-commerce, health and more. Following an intense sorting and auditing process, the following businesses have been selected of this funding initiative:

Child Accra Ltd – Dr Juliette Tuakli (Health and Public Health)
Weetroots Media – Mame Adjei Barwuah (Media)
Patbaf Campany Ltd -Pentila Doudu Patricia (Waste Management)
Clatural Wear Ltd – Clara Pinkrasam (Fashion)
Ecocent Recycling Ltd – Serwaa Emmanuella Gyawu (Plastic Recycling)
Speaking on the process, Roberta Annan, the Managing Partner of Annan Capital Partners (ACP) added: ”COVID-19 has affected many women-led businesses and we’re therefore pleased to play a part in mitigating some of it’s effects.
