There are unconfirmed reports that a meeting may have taken place between Mr. John Mahama and President Akufo-Addo, at which a decision was reached by both transition teams, to allow the former President maintain his official residence as his retirement home. If such an agreement was reached for the Ex-President to keep the residence, then one wonders why the new government is now claiming not to have approved the request for Mr. John Mahama.
As Ghanaians keep asking and wondering what actually went wrong, a member and a well known NPP supporter named Ekow Vincent wrote his take about this issues hovering over the former president and government.
Below is Ekow Vincent’s take;
President Mahama as custodian of the Laws of Ghana then, should have known that President Akuffo Addo at the time had no capacity in law to enter into an agreement on behalf of the people of Ghana.
President Mahama is too comfortable with shady and clandestine deals.
It was a goof.
