Exciting highend, lifestyle and fashion brand, Glitz africa presented the 6th annual edition of Ghana Women of the Year Honors, with a view to empower and highlight on milestones and notable achievements made by high profile women in their various fields of endeavours, in order to inspire upcoming and strong women to take a cue from them and do the same.
The much anticipated event began on Friday, 28th July 2021 with the “She Summit Mentorship Seminar”, the emphasis was on women empowerment, specifically women inspiring women; it was actually held at the Ecobank Head Office Accra. The theme for this year was, “Women Evolution: The Era of the empowered Woman.”
The seminar featured keynote women speakers such as Emma Morrison, Corporate Affairs; Gold Fields Ghana, Dentaa Amoateng (MBE) of Guba Enterprise, Musician Rebecca Acheampong (Becca), Art Historian and Filmmaker Nana Oforiatta Ayim and Aisha Ayensu of Christie fashion brand, among others; who actually shared their views on various topics of discussion. The sessions continued with a breakfast meeting for female CEO’s and business leaders who were part of it.
The glamorous gala which embodied the awards ceremony was held at Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra on Sunday,1st August 2021. Hosted by Ghana’s Anita Erskine, the Ghana Women of the Year Honors 2021 was graced by dignitaries and high profile personalities across Ghana and the Diaspora. In all, thirteen (13) Honourees were selected by an astute board of achievers who used clear and objective criteria in ensuring that the final list comprised of the most deserving women in various fields of endeavors.
While speaking, the CEO of Glitz Africa, Claudia Lumor expressed her gratitude to the guests who made it, she said clearly “all this greatness in one room, I’m so humbled. The story, the journey of all these inventous women and the people here. The love in this room, the inspiration in this room. I’m really happy, I’m such a proud Ghanaian tonight and thank you all for being here”, she remarked.

Humanitarian – Angela Dwamena Aboagye (Founder, ARK Foundation)
Excellence in Health – Dr. Juliette Tuakli (Founder and Medical Director of CHILDAccra)
Excellence in Media – Doreen Andoh (Multimedia Group)
Excellence in Governance – Hon. Shirley A. Botchway (Foreign Affairs Minister)
Excellence in Music – Becca (Artiste)Excellence in Film – Akofa Edjeani (actress)
Excellence in Technology – Patricia Obo-Nai (MD, Vodafone Ghana)
Excellence in Public Service – Jean Mensa (Chairperson, Electoral Commission)
Excellence in Cultural Arts – Nana Oforiatta Ayim (writer, art historian and filmmaker)
Excellence in Sports – Mercy Tagoe Quarcoo (Coach of national women’s team, Black Queens)
Lifetime Achievement – Her Ladyship Georgina T. Wood (former Chief Justice)
