Ghana’s 63rd Independence Day Celebation held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium Kumasi

For the first time in the nation’s history, Ghana our favorite country celebrates it’s 63rd Independence Day at the home of the Golden stool and the Ashanti kingdom, Kumasi. The ceremony which was held today; Friday, 6th March 2020 at the 40,000 seater Baba Yara Sports Stadium was packed to capacity and filled on every side, with all the single seats occupied. The parade was without superfluity, it was significant and essentially made perfect by the display of armoury and a good march past to crown it all.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo graced the occasion with his presence, together with the special Guest of Honor H.E Dr. Keith Christopher Rowley MP, the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobacco. In attendance was the Vice President, His Excellency Mahamudu Bawumia and his beautiful wife H.E Samira Bawumia, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Aaron Mike Quay, Chief Justice, Hon. Kwasi Annin Yeboah, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. James Oppong Boanuh, Former President, John Agyekum Kufuor, amongst other high profile personalities.

The symbol of royalty showcased live at the Independence Anniversary Celebrations, was simply ceremonial as His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu, the Asantehene was customarily there to witness the event unfold. See the images below!
