Multiple award-winning American Rapper, Cardi B performed for the first time in Ghana on Sunday, 8th December 2019 alongside top Ghanaian artistes such as Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Joey B, Medikal, Becca and a lot more. The event which was held at the Accra Sports Stadium was packed to capacity with music fans from all over Africa to celebrate their style icon and favorite rapper live in concert. She performed at Livespot X Festival in Lagos, Nigeria and later moved towards Ghana, where she arrived safely for the live concert.
However the planned meet and greet with Ghana celebrities at Kempinski Accra didn’t quite come on as expected, it was a big deal though it was later sorted out as Cardi explained she had no idea there was going to be a “meet and greet” time with her. People had a good time, the Livespot Festival in Accra was hitch-free concert, no incidents.
A Nigerian singer and creative director of Livespot 360, Darey Art Alade was quick to respond, “Cardi B was chosen because of her immense popularity”. She’s one of the biggest artistes in the world, it’s really about her uniqueness, it’s about her star power. She has got great music, and she’s the girl next door character that everybody loves”, she told CNN.
Cardi B whose real name is Belcalis Almanzer broke into the music scene in 2017 with her hit single ‘Bodak Yellow’ and has since then won multiple awards including a Grammy Award, Seven Billboard Music Awards, and four BET Awards.
