Highlife veteran, Charles Amoah has thrown a simple word of caution to the new generation of musicians who think they need to shoot catchy videos using woman who dances in semi-naked appearance for the song to go viral.
The legend was of the view that, songs become hit from the production stage and that involves writing, composition, arrangement, marketing and promotion. Giving an example of how hits where made in the past especially the 70s, 80s and 90s without any of such videos.
The secret was simple, the attention to production and making sure the song is a hit from the studio before it comes out for public consumption.
He made this comments when he was asked at “Dream” video premiere at the head office of Zylofon Media in Accra, whether he and other legends of the high life music would like to write songs for the new generation like Kumi Guitar to record.
He said it something he always wants to do but the management of Zylofon Media must promise not to shoot any nude video of the songs he would be writing for their artist, kumi Guitar.
Head of communication at Zylofon Media, Sammy Baah Flex responded by saying, the CEO of the company, Nana Appiah won’t allow them to shoot nude videos for any of the artist they are working with, but rather he would permit quality and classic videos that will market the artists faster.
