My name is Akofa Edjeani, the Vice President for Women in Film and Television (WIFT Ghana). On behalf of we Women in Film and Television and on my own behalf, I wish to extend our profound empathies to the wife, children and family of the late Captain Maxwell Mahama who was lynched. This is a tragedy that shouldn’t have happened and we angry and heartbroken. It is insane and barbaric. The rate of lawlessness in this country must come to a halt. We hope that the authorities will bring the culprits to book and justice served. As women and mothers, we will not stand by while our husbands, children and fathers are manhandled and killed by lawlessness.
Once again, we the Women in Film and Television wish to console the wife and family of the deceased. May God comfort them and may his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
