Kofi Kapito Comes Under Fire from a Cross Section of the Divide Because of a Comment He Made on Serwaa Amihere at the just Ended RTP Awards

The Chief Executive Officer of the Consumer Protection Agency (CEO) Mr Kofi Kapito has come under fire because of a comment he utterly made on Serwaa Amihere, (a broadcast journalist and news presenter with GHOne TV) at the just ended RTP Awards which held on Saturday, 12th October 2019 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

He was on stage to present an award for the Female TV Newscaster of the Year, right before then, he saw Ms Amihere sitting in the audience and said “Serwaa Amihere, look at your butt, nice”. After this, he asked the organisers to announce the winners.

However, the comment didn’t really settle or go down well with Serwaa so she took to twitter to show her disapproval. She posted, “I’ve so much respect for Mr Kofi Kapito. This is a classic case of sexual harrassment. I’m appalled by his utterance. This was needless and completely disrespectful”.

In another development, the RTP media personality of the Year Nana Aba Anamoah, point out significantly, the comment was unacceptable. The public is confident, not necessarily mixed feelings but the CEO’s comment didn’t come out so right, especially when she did it in front of the audience, she could have done it personally by whispering in her ear, if he had wanted to compliment or admire her beautiful body.
