It looks as if this social media banter between Multimedia Journalist and Anchor Isreal Laryea and NAM1 ain’t seeing an ending sight soon as the News Editor replys the Menzgold Nana Appiah Mensah after his not too good comments made on Instagram a while ago.
The comments which perhaps did not sit well with the media personality has birth a perfect response with the journalist urging the Zylofon Media boss to “Focus”.
The journalist in his response to the Menzgold boss said there’s no need for insults and that he’s only doing his job as a journalist and not SEC or BoG.
“No need for insults, Mr. Appiah Mensah. If the people who are jittery about losing their funds do this I can understand. You need to focus and figure out how to best manage the situation. I’m not SEC neither am I BoG, just a journalist sharing his observations #Focus!”
The JoyNews Editor, Israel Laryea after a report on the operations of Menzgold in the UK has generated a lot of controversies which has dominated discussions on all media platforms.
In a Video shared on Facebook by the JoyNews editor Isreal Laryea indicates that, the Menzgold UK does not operate the same business model it does in Ghana which landed them into troubles with various state institutions including the Security and Exchanges Commission.
The report added that, Menzgold rents a small space in the massive Berkeley Square House block in Mayfair which houses about a thousand or more businesses, mostly seeking short term leases.
Menzgold Ghana, a company trading in gold collectibles, was weeks ago directed to shut down by the Securities and Exchange Commission for not having a permit to operate.
The SEC wrote to the company, demanding that all trading in gold without licence be ceased.
It asked the company not to take new contracts (investments) and also halt broadcast and publishing of all its adverts.
This comes after the Central Bank warned customers and the general public from transacting business with Menzgold stating emphatically that it’s unlicensed and any individual who deals with it do so at his or her own risk.
Some sympathizers of the company have begun a social media appeal with #IstandwithMenzgold and #JusticeforMenzgold with others demonstrating against the State regulators, claiming they’re on a “witch hunt” agenda.
But like they say, time will tell.Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
