Silverbird Cinemas at West Hills and Accra Mall has now joined world wide film-showing theatres that have been shut down because of the Coronavirus outbreak. The management announced a few days back, in an Instagram post which read, “we’re sorry to announce that Silverbird Cinemas West Hills and Accra Mall would be shut down until fureter notice”. Management further advised the general public to sanitize their hands and stay safe while awaiting a better experience at both Cinemas when operations resume later.
This was as a result of the authoritative and powerful order given by Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo Addo to suspend all public gatherings that envelope more than 25 people at a time.
Ghana has as at yesterday confirmed it’s 7th case of coronavirus; Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, announced. According to reliable sources, 4 additional cases were confirmed on Sunday, after the two initial cases that were recorded on Thursday, 12th March 2020. So far, a total of 143 suspected cases have been tested for COVID 19 by the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) and Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR).
