Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Donates his Three Months Salaries into the COVID-19 Fund

The Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has donated three months of his salary into the COVID 19 Fund. The National Trust Fund, which was established by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is specifically meant to be used for the fight against the Coronavirus and to assist in the welfare of the needy and the vulnerable.

It’ll be recalled that during his broadcast on Friday, 27th March 2020, President Akufo-Addo announced the setting up of the fund and donated his next three months salaries into the fund as seed capital.

Dr. Bawumia noted on his Facebook page as he followed suit, “to support the kind gesture by the President of directing the Controller Accountant General to pay his April, May and June Salaries to the Covid 19 fund. I am donating three months of my salary starting from April to support the fight against Covid 19”, he said.

He continued, “fellow Ghanaians, March has been a sorrowful month for us as a nation with the Covid 19 infection”. The vice president ended by saying, “ultimately, we should all endeavor to stay at home, observe the preventive measures and together create a Covid 19 free society”, he concluded.
